How It Works
About Endowements
Endowments serve as perpetual funding sources for Indian River State College. Like a well that never runs dry, they provide continuous support for generations of students.
The Principal
The Principal is the initial donated amount that gets invested and protected—this foundation remains preserved while growing through strategic investment management.
The Interest
The Interest (investment earnings) represents the returns generated by the principal each year. Our investment policy allows us to use 5% of the principal annually for scholarships, academic programs, and essential college services.
Minimum Investment
$15,000 is the minimum amount for creating an endowment for scholarships, academic programs and essential college services. You can reach that amount with a single donation or make a pledge over a period of years to build up to it.
Fully funded endowments begin generating impact after their first full year of investment. During the initial three-year establishment period, spending allocations gradually increase as your endowment matures and stabilizes.
Name Opportunities
Create a legacy at Indian River State College through meaningful naming opportunities that honor your values while transforming education. In addition to naming a scholarship, your generosity can be remembered in other ways.
Impact Report
Donors receive annual statements detailing their endowment market value, investment returns, and the impact of their support on students and programs. These reports demonstrate how your gift is being stewarded and the tangible difference it makes in our college community.
